About Dr. Taylor Flohr, DACM, LAc.
I started Inner Way Wellness to explore new ways of blending ancient and modern modalities. My experience with acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, energy healing and intuitive bodywork complement treatment with acupressure, channel massage and energy healing with babies, kids and teenagers. I strive to treat the whole individual in body, mind and spirit and love to meet clients at any point across the lifespan.
My Story:
In my twenties, I worked as a payroll accountant and developed a repetitive strain injury, which led to years of living with chronic pain. I was unable to carry a bag of groceries, write or even hold up a book without significant discomfort.
I left my demanding desk job behind and was fortunate to find a skilled acupuncturist who embodied compassion. She listened to my story with full presence and asked me not only about my physical health but my emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing. She was a partner in my health and inspired me to become a Chinese Medicine practitioner to fulfill that role for others. Years later and now pain-free, I feel immensely grateful to possess firsthand knowledge of how significant a toll chronic pain can take on a person’s overall well being.
My approach blends a variety of different techniques ranging from gentle Japanese-style to Classical/Five Element acupuncture to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to orthopedic acupuncture. Along with acupuncture, I may incorporate cupping, moxibustion, guasha, intuitive bodywork, and energy healing into my treatments. Each different treatment approach has unique effects that can encourage the body to heal itself. As a wellness practitioner, I seek to empower each individual to return to health with personalized treatment plans, realistic goal-setting and lifestyle recommendations.
I feel passionate about treating a variety of conditions, including mood changes, anxiety, depression & stress, digestive disorders, women’s health, fatigue, insomnia, and musculoskeletal and chronic pain. Additionally, I have received training in three different approaches to post-stroke recovery/rehabilitation and feel very enthusiastic about the efficacy of acupuncture and herbal medicine to help stroke survivors (and their caretakers!).
I have begun offering treatments of what I like to call “radical preventative medicine” to babies (ages 7 months on) and kiddos. My approach is playful and gentle, and I love helping parents understand ways they are able to help at home with massage and acupressure.
Each of my microneedling treatments includes a full-body acupuncture in order to not only treat the physical manifestations of the aging process but also the root imbalances.
In my free time, I enjoy practicing meditation, traveling near and far, and spending time in nature with friends.
Please reach out to schedule a consultation and find out how I may be of service to you!

"Taylor brings a gentle openness to every session where I feel supported, comfortable and safe to share what is going on with me. It is a joy to work with her as her presence invites collaboration, and I feel empowered to give her input and feedback. Taylor works through her intuition with focus, and I start feeling better during the session - sometimes it is physical relief and sometimes it is mental clarity or more spaciousness in the body. I am so grateful to have found Taylor. "

Dr. Taylor is pretty incredible, very knowledgeable, and a truly excellent listener, which in turn translates to care that addresses what I need most. She has helped me in many ways, maybe most importantly in giving me back the belief that I can be part of a team that is actually effective in promoting my health and recovery-- as opposed to masking or ignoring the pain.

Training & Credentials:
I hold a dual Doctoral and Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) here in Portland. I am board certified by the NCCAOM and licensed by the state of Oregon to practice acupuncture and dispense Chinese herbal medicine.
After completing my education at OCOM, I traveled to Bajrabarahi, Nepal to volunteer with the Acupuncture Relief Project where I spent 5 weeks serving as an acupuncture physician at a rural health clinic. I loved working with the population in Nepal and was able to treat a wide range of conditions in a region where few health care options exist.
I also hold a B.A. in Women & Gender Studies and Public Health from Washington University in St. Louis and graduated with honors from Phi Beta Kappa.
